How best to deal with the constant 'mine' from a 2 year old??

Very normal I know but my 27mth dd constantly says this - especially when her 5 year old brother is around! She will not share with him at all (again very normal)! Thankfully most of the time he thinks it's funny! How is the best was to positively reinforce sharing etc...?

Well for me, sharing is a tricky one. I have two DD's and have never made them share things which are theirs.

Some things obviously must be shared...a paddling pool or trampoline for eg.

But a doll which belongs to DD1 is her doll. She doesn't HAVE to let her sister play with it as she's very careful with her dolls whilst my younger DD will often mess up their hair etc.

To me, "turn taking" has been more important. So I have tried to offer lots of opportunities for my DD's to take turns...simple board games when they were younger for example and waiting in line for their ice cream or whatever.

Ugh, I don’t know but I feel your pain. The DSs are 2 & 3, it’s constant. No one (including me) knows “whose” anything is, in fact most things don’t really have an owner. So ownership is in a state of flux and takeover bids are constant, both covert and overt.

DAT MINES!
No! It’s mine!
