Sorry if this is a but TMI.

I woke up at 1am to hear my son making a mouse to run into him and he was bwing sick on his back. Being a first time mum and him never being this bad before i panicked turned him over and let him be sick all over his bed. Put him in the shower to clean him off. Roll on Just before 2am and he was lying in our bed with a fowl underneath him and he was sick again. Both times was very lumpy like undigested food but again last time he was sick was Christmas eve and it was very watery as he drank too much liquid too quick.

I brough him downstairs as its cooler and I may him on his changing mat. Thought this would be a good idea incase he throws up again and Its a hell of a lot easier to clean than a duvet or a bed sheet. So here he is fast asleep like nothing has happened and i heard his stomach make a noise and, what sounded like a wee, came out of his bottom and the loudest fart followed. It was normal colour just very watery.

I think he has a virus or ate something dodgy from the place we are out at. He's fast asleep now snoring his head off but im slightly worried, putting it down to it being a first time thing.

Writing this as hoping to hear off others that it's just a normal virus and I have plenty more of them to come in the future or it could have been the food he ate.

Does sound like a virus/maybe food poisoning. just make sure he gets plenty of rest and water, he will likely have diarrhoea in the daytime so wont be feeling that great :(

Awwww poor little one.

I'm not doctor but it sounds like sickness and diarrhoea (gastroenteritis) Plenty of fluids and tlc needed.

Normally lasts 24hours. But I'm not medically trained so please speak to your GP if you're worried.

I'm my experience, those sachets of dioralyte are very good at restoring lost salts and making you feel better faster (check it's suitable for LO age) Also once LO is better, consider a probiotic (maybe some probiotoc yoghurt or liquid drops?) To help restore the good gut bacteria.

Hope LO feels better soon!!

Thank you for your responses. Hes fast asleep now and hopefully that's enough episodes for this evening. He's big drinker anyway so fluids wont be a problem once he's up. I thought it was sun stroke or whatever its called as we have been out in the sun all day but he had 4 large bottles of water and tried to keep him in the shade where we could (wasn't much of it) and he was fine. We all ate the same stuff except when we went out so I'm thinking its that or he caught a virus while out (was full of kids and not everyone washes their hands)

In going to call the doctor's tomorrow if hea any worse or he throws up again. Im going to get some of those dioralyt first thing.

He's almost 2 and a half and it's not too bad. Was at first but he's cooled right down since we came downstairs.

If he keeps throwing up every time he drinks fluids give him lemonade ice blocks. My dd had gastro and couldn't keep anything down. Lemonade ice blocks replaced her fluids and she could keep it down. Good thing you're taking him to the doctor. Hope he gets well soon.

He's woke up and he's been himself, laughing dancing wanting to watch his fave film but now when he drinks it goes straight through him and he has watery smelly poo.

Im going to call my pharmacist friend and see if she thinks we need to go docs as he's himself now

Don't go to the doctor unless he's not passing any urine for a good while and isn't improving or drinking (IE dehydrated requiring medical attention).

As unpleasant as this is, it can be managed at home by you and doesn't need spreading round your go surgery waiting room.

I hope he feels better soon Flowers

I didn't take him to the docs as he was fine. He didn't wee at all in the night like he normally does but once he had a drink and fushed his system he was filling them up like no tomorrow. Hes himself now but not letting him eat anything too heavy. Hes still sleeping a lot but he hardly slept last night so probably catching up on it all x
