What is your toddler eating each day?

Hello, LG is 18 months and im wondering if what she eats is ok?

Can you please share with me what ur tot is eating each day?

Today my wee girl had:

B - (0900) One slice of toast. Cup of water.
L - (1300) Medium sized banana, mini yoghurt, rusk. Cup of water.
D - (1800) Pitta bread and some pieces of chicken and lamb tikka. Spoonful of peas. Cup of water. Tangerine.
Snacks - mini raspberry flavoured rice cakes (think she had 5). 4oz of full fat milk.

Normally she would have a proper lunch, like a sandwich with ham or chicken. But think she was too hot for eating lunch today.

She is 24lbs but quite tall. I think she looks a bit on the chubby side in comparison to others her age.... (although im aware she is just a baby so shouldnt focus too much on that) But i dont think she eats loads?

Thanks in advance.

That sounds okay. Less than my DS would eat but more than some toddlers I know who seem perfectly active and healthy.

DS 15 months. Today he had:
Milk first thing (bf so not sure how much)
Porridge made with 100ml oatmeal 150ml full fat milk, with blackberries in it.
Whole microwaved sweet potato with yogurt, mint and cucumber
A lot of strawberries (dreading tomorrow's nappy!)
About 1/3 of a grown-up portion of prawn and spinach curry plus 1/4 of a naan bread
Milk (again not sure how much, but the days when he has it in a bottle it would be 200ml)
Water throughout the day

NotUmbongoUnchained · 28/06/2018 23:21

My DS is 20 months. Today he had:
B: smoked salmon with ryvita and cream cheese
L: Chicken skewers with peanut dip and veggies
D: Seafood udon.
Snacks were watermelon and blueberries. He doesn’t have milk anymore.

octoberbundle · 28/06/2018 23:22

My 20month is a big eater but as he's not chubby I'm not too worried. Today he has had:

B - two wheetabix with warmed milk, yoghurt, tangerine

Snack - toast

Lunch - homemade pizza and salad

Snack - rice cakes and raisins

Dinner - steak and kidney pie, sweet corn and peas. Dessert of strawberries and raspberries

Final snack of apply slices. Beaker of milk pre bed x

soundsystem · 28/06/2018 23:25

That doesn't sound like a huge amount to me, but mine are bottomless pits!

My 17 month old has:

Weetabix with full fat milk, and a cup of milk
Half a bagel or a slice of toast

An apple or pear on the way to nursery

Another weetabix and two or three quarters of toast at nursery

Lunch is something like chicken and rice and coleslaw, or jacket potato and cheese and beans or roast chicken, potatoes and veg, usually x 2, followed by yoghurt.

Tea at nursery is usually sandwiches and carrot sticks ( x2) followed by fruit

Then when he comes home something like scrambled egg on toast or pasta and pesto

Then a cup of milk before bed.

His weight is on the low side for his height. I have no idea how that's even possible!

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 28/06/2018 23:27

20 months

B (630) 2 weetabix and cup of milk

S (930) banana and water

L (1130) half baked potato cheese and beans then fromage frais with water

S (2) satsuma and water

T (430) fish peas potatos then an ice lolly and water

S (645) milk and a biscuit

NotUmbongoUnchained · 28/06/2018 23:29

6:30?!

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 28/06/2018 23:32

Wake up time here is around 6. This is good it used to be 330.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 28/06/2018 23:33

Jesus how do you cope with that? It would never occur to me to get up that early with the kids!

Lilsquish · 28/06/2018 23:41

Thank you guys. Im feeling a bit better about it now.

If anything it looks like she is eating less than average.

Must just be her chubby cheeks (im blaming her daddy for that trait! Haha)

Its just life!

Bananarama12 · 29/06/2018 06:41

I thought 6 was a normal wake up time Shock

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea · 29/06/2018 06:51

I dont think its overly unusual!

NotUmbongoUnchained · 29/06/2018 07:05

No way, mine would be sent back to bed at that time Grin

likeacrow · 29/06/2018 07:08

Ivegotfamilyandidrinkcupsoftea
I get up with my DD between 6-630 too. Try to stretch starting breakfast out til 7 though. Don't know why, just seems like a more acceptable time somehow!

Typical day for my 15 month old:

Breakfast: weetabix with whole milk & 1/2 chopped banana or few strawberries, thin crumpet with buttery spread & marmite

Snack: raw fruit bar

Lunch: if out, Ella's Kitchen pouch (usually the whole lot, the big 10 month plus ones).
If in, peanut butter/soft cheese on toast plus picky bits (cheese, breadsticks, cucumber, tomato)
Plus handful of toddler crisps & full pouch of squeezy yog/fromage frais

Snack: 5 rice cakes, fruit winder, home made ice lolly.

Tea: home made Quorn Bolognese with pasta or beef stew, couple of crackers with soft cheese, full jar fruit crumble.

Snack: oaty bar/half a banana

She never eats all her lunch AND tea. One is always a write off. But she's tall and fairly chunky so must be getting enough... Feeding her can be a struggle though. Often TV has to be on Blush

likeacrow · 29/06/2018 07:09

NotUmbongoUnchained

Like to see you send my 15 month old back to bed! 6ish is a totally normal wake up time, esp in the summer when it's light so early.

StillNoClue · 29/06/2018 07:10

Ds is 22 months. He eats like a horse.
B) X2 weetabix with dairy free milk
S) depends what we're doing; slice of toast/cucumber/flapjack bar or simular
L) sandwich, pasta, jacket potato, soup etc.then normally some cucumber and maybe a couple of squares of dairy free chocolate.
T) whatever the childminder gives him, but normally something like spaghetti Bol, chicken and veg, fish etc.
Milk for bed.
Drinks water through the day and just grabs his water when he's thirsty.

NotUmbongoUnchained · 29/06/2018 07:14

@likeacrow I’d be trying Grin

likeacrow · 29/06/2018 07:22

Oh & lots of water throughout the day.

(NotUmbongo Tbf I'm usually awake anyway as I'm a rubbish sleeper. Plus she'll need to get up at 6ish come Sept to get to childminder anyway, so all good.)

likeacrow · 29/06/2018 07:23

Oh & she has between 7-9 oz whole milk before bed!

NotUmbongoUnchained · 29/06/2018 07:26

@likeacrow I love having my hour before the kids are awake, keeps me sane Grin

NoNarnas · 29/06/2018 07:28

Breakfast at 6:30 here , we have to leave th house at 7am for work/childminder drop off.

Bowl of shreddies
Slice of toast
Banana
Another slice of toast when at childminders
Snack- Biscuit and fruit
Lunch- sandwich, fruit, pea crisps, cheese, mini malt loaf
Snack- crumpets
Dinner- pasta and a yogurt

He eats a lot in the day but doesn’t tend to have as much at dinner time.

Kintan · 29/06/2018 07:28

My 17 month old:

Breakfast: petit filou, with a slice of toast and peanut butter. Or in winter Weetabix with warm milk and a dollop of strawberry jam

Snack: usually some kind of toddler oat bar or some breadsticks

Lunch: A sandwich - yesterday was tuna mayo

Breast milk then a nap

Snack: rice cake/fruit

Dinner: whatever we are having. Last night it was a pasta and roast vegetable dish, then fruit or a mini milk.

Water throughout the day. Then breast milk before bed.
