Can I give my baby water?

My lb is 4m and is ff. In Scotland were in the 30s and its really really hot. My lb sweats a lot on a normal day never mind this heat and I was told by my HV I could give him some cooled boiled water, but how much in one day? My HV isn't working today and the office closes at 4pm and I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone else. I bought some hipp organic baby juice for 4m+ too but again have no idea how much I can give him on days like this...

How much does he want? I pretty much gave water between regular feeds whenever my kids wanted it

With water you can't give them too much. Offer it between feeds and see if they went it.

I gave an ounce or two at a time in between feeds so they still got the milk and didn't fill up on water.

If he is breastfed he can't have any water at all, but if he is formula fed he can have as much as you want to give him. I would stay away from the juice personally as they don't need the sugar so young :)

They can get extra fluids through extra formula feeds, or perhaps offer an oz or so in between feeds.
I wouldn't give the baby juice - there is no need for it.

Don’t give him juice!
Just let him take as much water as he wants, I’ve been offering my 5 month old some every hour or so, she’s drank around 6oz today so far
