I would like to start going swimming with my 3 and a half month old girl and would like some recommendations as to good swim nappies to use please.

I use reusables on her but am happy to use disposables for swimming or no nappy if the costume is the right one.

Thank you in advance

Boots own are great I bought them last year for ds on holiday and have just bought another load for this year. Only 2.99 for 10 nappies compared to about £5 for the little swimmers

I got a really good one from Mothercare. And it wasn't expensive, it's lasted about two years of use.

I use huggies little swimmers, you can buy them individually at Tesco's to test out. Just FYI, check with your pool, but my pool didn't allow me to take ds before he was 5 months, had to have had all his vaccinations. To do with it being a public place and lost of germs.

get a reusable one - John Lewis stock them too. Flap Happy or something, they're called. Cost a bit but if you go swimming a lot it's worth it. DS1 did a huge poo in his once in the pool and no leakage. TMI??!!

I'm a swimming teacher and have parent child classes, and I would recommend that you go for a front fastening washable one. The disposable ones are not only environmentally unfriendly, they also get waterlogged and heavy, as they are absorbent, which is not necessary. Urine is neutralised as soon as it hits the chlorine, and is sterile when passed. It's the poo that needs containing. But try getting a pooed in pull ups off!!!!
The disposable ones are really expensive.
I would recommend Popolino Popli ones as the best - really light and quick drying, very attractive, lots of choice of colours, and a really good fit as very adjustable. Floaties aquanappies are very good as well, and Konfidence have just brought out a good budget birth to potty one. It's a bit plasticy and garish, and only comes in blue or shocking pink, but birth to potty is a good idea if you're on a budget. There are a couple on www.usednappies.co.uk at the moment.

Huggies little swimmers don't absorb water anymore.

I used bright bots which i stock (you can google me) a couple of weeks ago when i went to center parcs and was impressed - they have a drawstring also as well as elasticated to make extra secure and proved to be a good poo catcher on many an occasion. The they came of easy as the drawstring loosened sufficeiently to prevent a big smearing!. Anyway there you go - i aint tried any others to comment but there cute and come in some bright colours and the girly ones have a frill detail. Feel free to take a peek at my site. I know im not suppost to promote myself on here but you did ask so i am giving you my personal opinion and yes it just so happens i sell them but they are darn cheap! .

I use a smal fuzzis wihout the inserts and then a neoprene happy nappy on top, have used this system for two years with DD and now started using it with DS2 who is 1 weeks, no probs so far
