Best maths toys for 3 and 5 year old

My two (2.5 and 4.5) both love magnatiles and I can see that they are still young and there's lots more potential for them to play and be even more creative as they get older.

Cooking stuff
magformers for shape
5 year old might just be old enough for uno (maybe a little young)
dominos
snakes and ladders

Lovely wooden mosaic tile things to make pictures with - Melissa and Doug
Orchard Games - my son's fave was spotty dogs
Duplo - the number sets are great and my daughter totally learned her number recognition from them as she played
Old calculators, remote controls etc
Peg boards and pegs
Chalks for on the patio - hopscotch, draw a number and find that many leaves, stones, cars etc
Shops with tills - you can make your own
Blocks of different colours and sizes
Make patterns with blocks and use a mirror for symmetry
Play dough
Weighing scales
There's loads!!!
Maybe follow Dadlab on Facebook, he's always got suggestions of gorgeous educational toys he's sponsored to promote

I recommend you look into Montessori maths toys and items/equipment.

Also an old fashioned abacus, and learn how to use it yourself to show units, tens, hundreds, thousands, etc.

Look up homemade maths manipulatives (and also math, so you don't miss out on ideas from the US).

Look up lego maths (and also lego math).

A couple of good and fairly easy ideas:

Also, look at Pinterest for inspiration.
