So everyone told us it would happen. Once DD starts nursery, she’ll bring home every bug going. Safe to say that it is true and the lurgy has spread round our house like wildfire!
DD started Thursday, and today is on the mend and running around like a loon, while she’s passed her bug to me and her Dad.

I really don’t have the energy to chase her round :( my body aches, I feel clammy and cold, i’ve been sick. DH has taken himself to bed.

How do you all get through it? Any advice on how to get through the next 24 hours?

How bloody unlucky that this time it’s struck down all 3 of us at the same time!

Whatever keeps her amused for the time being - even if she trashes the place! Simple meals that you can cook quickly.
Call in reinforcements if you can.

Why should your dh get to take to his bed? Tell him to get his act together and tag team with you. You are both poorly so therefore you need to work as a team.

Loads of tv. Just completely suspend any notion of limiting screen time until you can function again. Lie on the sofa while she watches it. Order in food, if possible. And make sure you get some time in bed and your DH spends some time pushing through.

Ceebies.

Parent in shifts.

Skip bath time if you can’t be bothered.

EggysMom · 16/06/2018 20:37

As others have said, parent in shifts / tag team. It's what we did when both struck by a flu virus earlier this year. We took to bed for alternate two-hourly intervals.

Sweetiedarlingletmein · 16/06/2018 20:38

We all got Norovirus last year. DD had it first then me and DH got it about 36 hours after her. We put our duvet on the living room floor, took shifts staying awake and let her run riot around us with CBeebies on constant. It was hideous but we all survived and you will too.

I went to bed in the afternoon so now its DH turn haha

Ideally DD would be asleep by now but must of have had a late nap earlier. Counting down until bed time!

With flu type things I'd run a bidg bath maybe with bubbles and get all bath toys out all at once and sit in there with radio on for a couple of hours with child
I usually rationed to 1 bath toy at a time so this was a treat and minimal moving involved and kept them happy in one place

abitoflight · 16/06/2018 21:23

And if Iill, I'd just feed them ice cream as if they unwell, really wouldn't eat much at all so not hat bad

Sorry no good advice, but we had this virtually every week for the first two months of nursery and caught nearly everything she had other than the stomach upsets, stock up on calpol, painkillers and flu remedies.
