My 20 yr dd was looking after her friends 3yr dd overnight for 3 days. She was at nursery for 6 hours each day. They slept at my house, although this wasn't planned.Anyway on the last evening ,the LG was sick at 2am.My Dd contacted the estranged father to pick her up.She did not have a temperature and was ok after being sick. The father was going to collect her after nursery for the weekend.Should my dd have contacted the father in the middle of the night over this? He was ok about it.Thanks

If he was ok about it then it's fine. Some parents would want to be informed straight away, others would be happy if your daughter just looked after her and told them the next day. Your daughter is young and, if she doesn't have children of her own, may have been very unsure if a child vomiting is serious or not. Important for the parents to know early the next morning if the little one was supposed to go to nursery the next day as that is probably not allowed.

I wouldn't call during the night if this was me but I wouldn't mind if someone looking after my children did. Better to be over cautious when minding someone else's children.
