Pram advice

Hi there, this is my first post, I’m 30 weeks pregnant with my first baby and now looking at prams. Just wondering if anyone has any feedback on the iCandy prams. I have my eye on the Orange because of it’s large under storage but having my doubts on spending £900+ as I’ve noticed a few people selling them on gumtree after just 12 or 18 months. Does anyone know why? Has anyone used the icandy models past 18 months, up to 4 years? Seems like a big investment for just 18 months use. If that’s all it’s good for I’m tempted to get a cheaper brand altogether. Any advice much appreciated!

There is a whole board on prams.

I had an Uppababy Cruz. At 12 months we bought a light weight stroller for nursery and holiday. Soon we starting using it all the time.

If I was going to look for pram now (not as I would just reuse my Uppababy) I would look at Mama and Papa Armadillos flip and I would seriously consider buying second hand.

We had an icandy peach which was great. It was bulky and heavy, yes, but it was a dream to push and the basket fitted lots underneath. You could go offroading with it, it would even accept being pushed on the beach.

I'd buy another one if I had a second baby. We also sold it for about 1/3rd of the original purchase price so made some money back on it.

I have an iCandy Peach and I love it, but you would never get 4 years use out of it (for the same child). The seats are notoriously small so most kids do seem to outgrow them by around 2. That said they are lovely to look at, well made and a dream to push.

My sister had the iCandy and both her boys were out of it by 18 months. Heavy thing it was too.
I bought the Tutti Bambini Riviera travel system for my daughter and it’s amazing and comes in under £300!

We considered an iCandy but like you, I saw a lot of them being sold and not used for long which put me off. We ended up getting a Maxi Cosi Elea with the carrycot attachment and accessories and we have loved it, still in use with our DD (age 2) and no plans to stop using it anytime soon!

I have the orange and I'm really happy with it, the basket is amazing!

I got a baby jogger city mini and loved it. My friends who bought bulky ones ditched them a few months in. Depends on your needs but it folded up like a dream, and is great for when they are older, not just the baby months. My friend had a Cruz and it took up her whole boot. Good luck.
*now thinking I want another baby just so I can buy another pushchair 😂

BendydickCuminsnatch · 09/06/2018 07:15

DS2 is 7 months old and we’ve just switched to a pushchair rather than pram - Mountain Buggy Nano v2. It saves soooooo much boot space, is still lie-flat and you can use it with a car seat. Also it can be hand luggage on a plane. We got a pushchair around this age with DC1 too, and used the travel system (then later also bought a jogging buggy!). So in my experience, travel systems just get irritating once you’re out of the phase of needing the carrycot and car seat!

BendydickCuminsnatch · 09/06/2018 07:16

That should say ‘used the travel system for walking around from home, ie it never went in the car’.

We have the iCandy Orange and perfectly happy with it, it's just that at some point you also want something smaller and lighter, we have a nice sling in addition to the pram and are looking into lightweight strollers too. But the Orange has been brilliant for the last couple of months, couldn't fault it.
