Is this normal for 6 months?

DS is 6 months. Last week he pulled himself up into standing position for the first time and as of today, is sofa cruising at a very fast pace!

Should I be allowing this or will he get bowed legs?

He's a very fast crawler and doesn't want to do that anymore, he's straight for anything he can pull himself up into standing position and move around holding on to.

He’s advanced but I wouldn’t think that’s a bad thing and there’s nothing you can do to stop it

It won't do any damage. Let him at it, tho make sure everything is baby proofed and t.v. or wardrobes can't tip over etc.

Dd took to scaling the wardrobe by pulling out the drawers before we put lock things on them.

Definitely normal, don't worry!

My DD did that around the same age and was properly walking by 8.5 months.

No signs of bowed legs so far.

Not much you can really do to stop it though!

Time to move everything breakable up another level I'm afraid.

My eldest sat at 6 months, stood a week later, cruised a week later and at days after being 7 months old started walking. By 8 months she was fully outdoor walking. She never crawled.

She did get bow legs. The muscles in her legs were not strong enough to support her weight properly. We saw a consultant about it, but he wasn't worried. Just said, yes she'll have bow legs until her muscles strengthen, but it's not like you can do anything about it. They straightened out gradually over time and we're perfectly normal legs by the time she started school.
