Which are the slimmest bamboo nappies of all?

DH has realised that DS has mobility problems in his MEOS/bumbles - he is a small 6 months and really wants to move. So DH has agreed that we should get a few bamboo nappies to help him out (ha ha I have been angling for some for ages). We use nippas and don't mind using fitted or terry.
Nappy experts - Please could you advise me on which bamboo nappies we should get?

Bambineos!! They really aren't that much bulkier around the legs than sposies. As ds grows bigger they fit him better and are even less bulky.

Ds is 6 months and though he's nowhere near crawling, he's rolling and managing to turn himself in circles - I've noticed no difference in his mobility when wearing cloth or disposable.

Having said all that, I only have experience of Bambineos and Wambamboos (they were rebranded as Bambineos but were a slightly different shape imo) so I am only speaking out of slightly self-obsessed zeal for everyone to do as I do!

I think you would probably find a folded bamboo square quite bulky so I would say a Bambineo (wambamboo) or Nature abies Bamboo Loveable. However have to say I don't think they will be any slimmer than a MEO, but you will have some gorgeous new nappies to play with

Thanks for your quick replies banbineo it is (won't mention that it may not make much difference...). We are using medium airflow wraps do they go well?

SS - He actually pivots on the MEOS when trying to turn and roll. DH put him in a boosted fluffle this morning. He looked like a fish out of water poor thing!

They are less bulky than a MEO going by ease of fastening ds's dungarees, although not by a huge amount.

I use Motherease Rikki wraps and find them less bulky (perhaps as they're closer fitting) than the Airflow. I have a few MEOs and Airflows as standbys.

Another thing is that I find I don't have to boost the Bambineos at the moment as they're very absorbent so maybe that also makes a difference, although if your ds is quite small then you might find you are still folding down the top which obviously adds to bulk a bit.

Might have to get a Rikki too... thanks!

Do any of you bambineo fans find that they are really, really, long in the body? Or was it just mine? I only had one to play with, but ended up selling it on after a few months. Despite being a tall, slim babe the nappy did up somewhere under her arm-pits and she looked a bit like a sumo-wrestler in it.

shonaspurtle · 20/05/2007 14:44

Yes - with you in the long body thing. I fold down the top on my aplix bambineos and just use the tabs to fasten to each other.

I reckon though that it means they will fit for longer and tbh, I don't have an issue with folding them. They are longer than the WBBs I think.

Flamesparrow · 20/05/2007 20:11

I use nippa bambineos so the length isn't an issue.
