Teething SOS

7.5 month old DD 2 days ago became suddenly very unsettled, needy, and stopped sleeping as well. She previously self settled nearly instantly for all naps (either 2 or 3 a day, adding up to 3hr total) and was a happy little baby. Now she just won’t go to sleep with any method (in her cot, on me, next to me). She just cries.
At night she usually (not intentionally on my part) feeds to sleep, and has been staying asleep from 7-3ish and then up screaming and unsettled until morning.
I’m trying calpol, ambesol, nelson powder, bickiepegs...

I don’t technically have proof that it’s teething but she’s putting everything in her mouth even more, dribbling loads, and showing most signs.

I’m only 2 days in and struggling. Blush

Anyway, I don’t even know why I typed all that out, I only wanted to ask for peoples experiences of teething, if they had a similar sudden change in behaviour, and when it got better.

Thank you Brew

We had this for 3 days, it was horrible. Have you tried ibuprofen instead of calpol? I used the powders in the day and anbesol with ibuprofen at night every 4 hours. It was still hell and not looking forward to when it happens again!

I used cucumber chunks chilled in the fridge or freezer. DS would suck away and I know it helped.

Also a teething ring/toy that could be chilled. It was cold that helped my LO.

How's she eating? DS2 would only eat mash, quinoa, baby porridge, anything soft. I also found that giving him water at night was soothing.

Thank you for your replies!
She’s eating fantastically, she loves solids, to the stage where she’s only having about 15 oz milk a day as she prefers solids.
I’ve just given her a cold pepper stick so will try that.

Thanks for replies. It’s helpful to hear this isn’t the first time it’s happened and that it will pass in timeFlowers

It's good her sore gums haven't put her off eating. ☺
