Night lights

Hi, my nearly 3 year old used to sleep in the pitch black but has suddenly during the last few days since she has been poorly been saying she doesn’t Want to go to bed and it’s too dark. We bought a nightlight which was like the Blackpool illuminations so I have found another one which lets out a less bright (although in my eyes still quite bright compared to what she had) pink light. Do you leave the nightlights on all night or sneak in and turn them off? I’m worried that the light will disturb her...

My DS(6) has one and I usually creep in once he's asleep and turn it off. Mind you, the few times I have forgotten he hasn't woken up any earlier so it doesn't seem to disturb him. I dread to think about what he will be like as a teenager Grin

I leave it on all night. Leave the landing light on as well but do turn that off when I go to bed. If she woke in the middle of the night she'd be scared if I'd turned her nightlight off

make sure it's an orange light and not one that contains blue/ white light as this can affect sleep but then yes just leave on the whole time

Thank you for everyone’s replies. Last night was pretty disastrous so here’s hoping for a better one! Will make sure there is no white/blue lights. It makes me feel so anxious and on edge.

How did last night go?

Get a plug in timer - it's turns itself off

Hi, thank you for asking Debinaround. Better overall, sat with her for a couple of minutes whilst she drifted off at 7 and then I first heard her at 4.40 and after 10 minutes of me being with her she dropped back until 6.45 so that was really good. She just sounds so awake when she wakes up early, for some reason she is like clock work waking up at bang on 4.40 and then it’s the fear that you are up for the day. I’m hoping it is just because she has been poorly and everything will soon right itself. Or perhaps I’m just expecting too much Confused. Going to have a look at he plug in timers, thank you.
