Sleepovers - how often do you allow them?

My girls are always on at me to have a friend to stay over, or to stay with a friend. I hate the whole thing. I like shuffling about in my pjs in the evening and first thing, and hate being woken at 7am on a Sunday. But what I hate most is having to put up with the vile thing that is a sleep-deprived 9-year-old the next day.

So I ruled that once a month is all I am willing to tolerate.

Am I being mean?

DD is 7 and has only been to 1 -it is still so vivid in my mind that I have just declined the offer for her to have a sleep over at her friends tomorrow night. I cannot face a sleep deprived DD on Sunday.

So, no you are not being mean (but I probably am )

Haven't been brave enough to let my DS have a sleepover but I think once a month is more than I would be willing/able to tolerate!! Sounds v reasonable to me.

once a month is brilliant. We only allow them on birthdays and that only started at age 9. Mind you I have boys is that the difference?
