Been using a laundry service - now ready to buy my own nappies , please advise

I've been using prefolds with a laundry service for DS. I'm now thinking that I'd like to buy nappies to wash myself, could I please have some advice? My situation:

DS is 9 months, pretty big and chunky (24lbs?), just starting to crawl around. I have no tumble drier (and not intending to get one) so will be drying outside on the line or inside on the airer, so ease of drying is a consideration.

hiya maewest - i have a nappy site and you are welcome to google me. I am in north east and do home visits too. I didnt have a dryfer for a short while and found pockets easy to wash and quick to dry but im obsessed with pockets! Fluffles are lovely and soft - i got some in this week and they are scarily fluffy- so much so i contemplated it! I have a medium motherease airflow in my personal stocks i hardly used as i prefer pockets that im willing to sell but as a seller i also have tots wraps etc...., dont want to get chastised for selling on the notice board though so if you want some nice friendly nappy chat feel free to google me at nappyzone. Happy shopping though whatever you decide!

I'd definitely recommend fluffles too. They dry incredibly quickly (we don't have a tumble dryer) and stay blissfully soft, even in our hard water area. Actually, the softness thing is quite a big factor IMO. We used cotton totsbots for about 2 years, and they were great if you could tumble them, but when we got rid of our dryer they were uncomfortably crunchy.

They are v absorbant, and we've had no leaks (actually I think we did when DS was a newborn, but only one or two minor leaks, and they were v explosive poos).

We use motherease airflow wraps with the fluffles (and the cotton totsbots) and they are great - best I've tried.

Only downside is that fluffles are bulky, but if you are partial to the sight of a big baby bottom then it's not a problem

Quick drying nappies: most pocket nappies, Tots Bots Fluffles, Nature Babies Micro Diddy Diapers, Prefolds (as you have been using) and terries, but obviously s they are quite large when you open them out you will need a lot od drying space, Motherease One Size and Nature Babies Diddy and Dizzy Diapers are also quick drying. Bamboo Napppies (although excellent) are probably not for you as they take an age to dry .

Wrap wise you can use almost any sort, Motherease airflow and riki are great (you can't use an airflow with a prefold really as it is a loose fit wrap) but a bit boring, Tots Wraps are great looking but not very reliable, Natures Babies wraps are good all rounders. Then there are fleece and wool wraps, I won't bore you with them now

Thanks for replies, have been off-line since Friday, given me more to think about!

Fluffles are great - I prefer them for nights more than days as they can be bulky.

Or I got a little kiwi quick flip lite this week and its amazing - it has a slim bamboo booster with it (I'm using 2 at once because it holds lots more that way ), but they open out long so dry quickly, and the outer of the nappy is thin cotton so dries really quickly too.

don't get bamboozles by tots bots. they take forever to dry! (good though)

I'm very into pocket nappies (fuzzi buns or slinki minkis or nature baby stuffables) stuffed with prefolds at the moment - both bits dry quickly without needing to go in the dryer.
