Hives like rash 9m baby

My LO has started to get a hives type rash every time she eats.

It’s been going on for 6 weeks now, the pharmacist thought it was slapped cheek but now we have managed to work out that in the morning there’s no rash (or if there is, it will be two little spots where people have dimples) and then when she eats something it will flare up, it can be yoghurt, bananas, cucumber, even rice cakes!? There’s not one particular thing, and what I don’t understand is that she was fine from 6 months eating all of these things up until recently!

I don’t know what to do, what can the drs do? Will they do a allergy test? Every morning I think to ring up and get an appointment but there’s nothing there so I think just wait and see... just don’t know what to do! We don’t have any allergies (neither family do really)

Clicked post too soon...

It will flare up before I’ve wiped her face so I know it’s not that, and she doesn’t always eat at the highchair so can’t see that it’s what I wash that with.

Interestingly enough, my son went through the same thing. Hives for no reason and it went on for a few weeks and then disappeared. He hasn't had them since. If it continues, definitely have it checked out. Weirdly, I would get hives when I was out in really cold mornings when I was a kid. It was somewhat linked to my asthma. The only thing I'm allergic to is penicillin.

Thanks- did it happen when your son was eating? At first it would stay there all day and all night hence us thinking slapped cheek but I’ve been putting cream on that seems to ease it overnight as it looks so itchy. I just don’t know how long to leave it for/what the dr can do.

No, it just always happened at random times and then would go away after a few minutes. He hasn't gotten it for months. I would still urge you to see a GP. You just never know
