Just that really, need to update the toy box, and wondering what to get. What do your little ones of the same age like best? Thanks in advance

My 17 month old loves playing with a toy dyson Hoover and a toy washing machine. He also loves playing with wooden pots and pans with plastic food. Hope that helps

Thanks Mamazita, that's really helpful, I'll definitely look at some of those.

Everything she shouldn’t Grin

Dd - make believe stuff as Mamazita said. Not yet into Happyland etc except to stick in her mouth. And things with lots of buttons to press, switches to flick doors to open and so on.

DS was into cars etc at the same age.

She likes cars & plastic dinosaurs.

She likes pop up toys too, we have something that you push/slide/twist a button and a farm yard animal pops out of a door.

Hand puppets (jelly cat ones are funny).

Oh and My sodding glasses Angry

Toys dd1 started playing with at around 18 months and still plays with at 3.5 - tea set, picnic box & happyland. She rarely gets the toot toot out anymore but still loves the fire engine and fire station occasionally. She's not played with farm for ages now but loved it at that age.

My ds likes Duplo, cuddly toys, water and sand table in the garden, "colouring" (scribbling!), and he has a big tractor with animals that make the noises when you put them in which he LOVES. Other than that he just potters around and joins in with what my dd is doing and gets into everything he shouldn't!

Fab, thanks all, I have a list. I've just realised most of her toys are probably far too babyish and she is probably bored, feel like a terrible parent Sad. But I cam console myself that she keeps herself busy with everything she shouldn't have and plays a fab game of hide and seek with remote controls / phones / important things of mine Grin

Don't feel bad! I'm honestly not convinced my ds would notice if I took most of his toys away he just likes pottering! But those certain toys are great to keep him interested for 15 minutes or so while I get on with something else.

Muddlingalongalone · 22/05/2018 21:30

Don't feel bad - dd2 still plays with her baby toys. I tried to offload them once....but no my house still resembles an Argos warehouse

Pots and pans, play kitchen. Ball run. Drums. His brothers train table and car track. Toy farm with animals.

moita · 23/05/2018 03:52

Balls, those cars/trains with magnets on, books, his ride-on Fisher Price lion.

He mostly loves non toy-toys! I.e pots, pans and other safe kitchen utensils I let him play with. The mop and hoover (he pushes them both around). My hairbrush and sunglasses Hmm

I've tried colouring in which last all of a minute when he starts eating the crayon. He really loves me giving him a washing up bowl with bubbles in which he uses to 'wash-up' his plastic toys. I put a towel underneath as this inevitably gets tipped up.

UnalliterativeGeorge · 23/05/2018 15:03

Toy buggy, happyland people, brothers brio and tidying up anything he is trying to play with Hmm
