Two year old has mild eczema. I think from sun cream. If I take her to the pharmacist will they sell me something for it?

I took DD for the same problem today. She has had random rashes come up believed to be eczema from sun cream.

They can reccomend shop bought products like creams and emollients that you can buy. These include cetraben, epaderm, diprobase etc etc. Child’s farm has also got reviews. There are quite a few products to try.

If the eczema is more severe she may need a trip to the doctors for a mild steroid cream as the pharmacist will not give these out to a 2 year old without a prescription. 😊

Hydrocortisone cream over the counter. V mild steroid.

I took my child into a pharmacy and they recommended I get an appointment to see the doctor as they could prescribe medicine they couldn’t sell without a prescription.

Ds has eczema on his face, left from scarlet fever. His eyes are so sore looking but the pharmacist said as long as the skin isn't broken or infected, over the counter, water-based emollients should help.
She particularly recommended a tube of calamine lotion.

Thanks everyone. She does have a small amount under one eye and just a few small spots about the size of 5p coins in her arms.

Really recommend trying the child's farm moisturiser. My DS1 has eczema and it's done wonders, and is pretty cheap so worth a try. They also do a Suncream so if it helps then it might be worth trying that if you think that's what caused it.

Alternatively I've found the ambre solire transparent suncream better than white sticky suncreams for his eczema, irritates it less, and try do factor 50.

Thanks we got some e45 cream and it is clearing up. She has some patches on places not where near where she would have sun cream so I am entirely such what is cause it. If I think the sun cream is making it worse then I will try the child’s farm one.

ambre solire Does not have 5 star protection.

Another strong recommendation for Child’s Farm.

DS had quite bad eczema when he was little, he grew out of it fortunately, but the best sun cream that I found for him was Sunsense Toddler roll-on. Proderm Sun Mousse was also good, but I couldn't use it on his face as it stings if it gets in the eyes. Almost all other sunscreens increased the eczema.

Also Aveeno cream turned out to be the best for him. You might need to try several different creams as what works well for one child might make another child worse. When you do find one that works, keep applying it regularly, at least morning and evening, and possibly in the middle of the day too if you have a less wriggly toddler than I did.

DS has largely grown out of horrendous infant eczema but I still can't use Nivea sun cream on him.

I have heard great reports about these products. Might be useful for your little one.

I used burts bee baby range on my dd and it has cleared it up amazingly
