Toilet training signs

Hi,

Wondering if this is that start of potty training. Our daughter is 22m old, knows poo and comes to tell us when she's done one and answers correctly when asked if she's done one.
Yesterday we collected her from nursery and on getting her out of the car she started saying wee and nappy, pulling at the nappy and whining, didn't really think anything of it but she kept on saying wee and nappy. We took her up for her bath and got the nappy off she weed on the floor, as though she'd been holding it in, does this sound like she might be ready? Or if not maybe soon? We have a potty so we can get that out whenever it seems the right sort of time

If she is aware and tried to hold it in I would say she is ready. Perfect time of year, get the nappy off when it's an at home day and give the potty a try. Everyone has different ideas, I found letting my daughter choose a sticker for the outside of the potty every time she used it worked well. She was exactly your daughters age and in a few day's she had it down.

Loads of signs! I'd recommend reading the Oh Crap book before diving in. I did it with my DD at 22mo.

Thanks both thats great, she loves being outside so will try her at the weekend with the nappy off in the garden.
Will check the library for that book too :-)

Definitely good signs that she’s ready. If you’re going to ditch the nappy, don’t let her run around with a bare bottom, make sure she has pants on. Often children can learn to use the potty when they have no clothes on, but then see pants as the same kind of security as a nappy, so may go back to having accidents in that case.
