One year injections

Hello,
I'm just here to ask what was your child/children like after their one year injection?

I got it coming up with my DD and was wondering because I don't know what to expect. She was ok on the other injections see and I've heard the one year injections are worse.

Thank you for you replies 😊

My DS had his one year injections about 4 weeks okay. He was totally fine and no different from his usual behaviour afterwards- couldn't even tell he'd had them!

The jabs themselves were not nice and I felt awful as he screamed the doctors surgery down but a few mins later he'd already forgotten!

Best thing to do is give baby a dose of calpol about an hour before, then 2 more doses throughout the day (usual 4 hours apart rule applies)

Hope your DD gets on with them okay! Flowers

I think lots say they were worse because baby is older, bigger and stronger so kinda knows what's going on. My lo screamed but settled quickly and was back to normal after a nap which she took around an hr later. Give calpol before injections I'm sure she will be fine.

Our daughter is upto date now at near 4 in November so we used YouTube for distraction but also something really good on opposite side so distraction technique.

Be aware that some places now ask if you have medicated before hand and if so they refuse until no meds given.

Happened to a colleague and she had to explain why the calpol was for (teeth) and not for her injections.

(Stupid rule but places in England and Scotland do ask!)

Thank you everyone for your replies. I shall give her calpol before hand 😊
