On my third coffee of the day as my daughter (about to turn 3) woke up at 4.45am today. This is the first time she has done it for a long time, generally she wakes about 6 (which now seems like a lie in!). She hasn’t slept during the day for about a year now, she does to get at 7pm. my question is should she be earlier to bed tonight to help make up some sleep and by keeping her up too 7 will she become more over tired and be up as early tomorrow morning? 6 I can handle, 4.45 I cannot! Yes, I still put DS 6 to bed early if he wakes up before 6. Which he tends to do on weekend mornings. I've got him trained to get his tablet and connect to WiFi though. 😆

Dd age 3 here too (also have a teenager and Ds 5). I point blank refuse to get up before 6. They have 2 options, either get into bed with me and dh and go back to sleep for a bit or go back to their room and play quietly.
Tbh if they come in before 6 I pretend to be fast asleep completely ignore them and hope they choose playing in their room, because the 3 and 5 yo are incapable of staying still and have toe nails like razor blades.

That sounds like the teenager still gets into bed with us Grin he doesn't except Christmas and birthdays
I haven't seen him for a couple of days actually (because of school/work schedules), so he could have moved out for all I know!

Is it the sunshine? I am going to buy black out blinds today!

Ergh, normal then! To be fair to her she did lie next to us very quietly but just couldn’t get back to sleep. Thanks for sharing your experiences! Misery loves company I hear...Grin

I have to wake DD and DS every single weekday morning and they complain so much about having to get up at 7am.

Weekend - DS (4) has got up at 5.45am Saturday and 6am Sunday. Just unbelievable! And this is his usual pattern. Why??

Piffpaffpoof · 20/05/2018 08:11

How frustrating for you Pimms... am trying to plan a good day out today because if we all stay around the house I would imagine things won’t run so smoothly!

Same here pimms, DS used to wake up at 5.45 every single morning, now he sleeps until 6.30 when I wake him up for school, but wakes up at 5.45 at the weekend. ConfusedHmm
