Childminder and nursery

Has anyone used both a childminder and nursery for their children?

Going to work in a couple of months and working out childcare for my dc who will be 10 months old.
I have been trying to decide between nursery and a childminder. I know a lovely childminder who has a space for four days a week. I went to view a nursery today and really liked it but am not keen to send dc for the full 5 days.
I was thinking about sending dc one day a week to nursery and four days to the childminder. Has anyone split childcare like this and used both? How did it go?
Thanks

Quite a lot of children struggle to settle with just one day a week. If you are splitting, I would go for 2 days at least in Nursery

I agree, 2 day/3 day split would be better.

That's exactly what we do - 4 days in childminder and 1 at nursery. In our case the CM only works 4 days so it's the only way to make it work.

DS is 22 months and we have been doing this since the new year. Seems to be working OK - settling in at nursery took longer than at CM (he was already at CM 4 days before we added the day at nursery) but no real issues and both CM and nursery are happy with him.

We'll probably increase days at nursery when he's a bit older but it's working OK for us right now.

Thanks for the replies.
Definitely something to think about. Maybe a 2 days/3 days split would make more sense.
