Breastfeeding advice neeeded

Can someone help me with some advice please. DS is 21 weeks, ebf mostly breast with occasional expressed bottle given by family.

I was wondering if anyone has experience of leaving partner to do a full night with expressed bottles? DS still feeds 2 hourly and I am exhausted. Recently I'm also worried my supply is not as much as it was but I am just soooo tired that I'm wondering if fatigue and exhaustion are to blame? I just want a nights sleep! Does anyone have experience and can advise how this might affect my milk supply if it's just one night? I'm reluctant to do it just in case! Thank you in advance Smile

Hi

It should be fine as some babies sleep through hours. Your boobs will probably hurt a it and may leak if you are used to 2 hourly feeds.

Why are you worried about supply? It's likely fine, supply issues are rare I think.

Youll probably wake up with exploding boobs tbh.

What we did was i fed and dh winded changed and reatedled. I fell back to sleep
immediately after handing the babies over to him. Would that help?

I'm only worried about supply as I haven't been able to express as much in the last few days. Maybe I'm over worried. I have tried just feeding and daddy doing everything else but I think I need at least 6+ solid hours just for once!

Try it- you could always feed if boobs are hurting too much.

My baby ONCE slept for eight hours (never again) Boobs were full and hurting, but he relieved me once he woke!

Expressing is not always an indication of how much milk you have, and if you are feeding baby as well you might not have lots to express- baby is more efficient than pump.
