Eczema, where to start?

My ds is 12 weeks old tomorrow. I’ve realised recently that I think he has eczema. He’s always been a big bumpy and rashy on his face, but I chalked it up to baby acne. It’s only been since his first round of jabs though (2 weeks ago, they were a bit late finding us an appointment) and with the heat last week that I’ve realised it’s more than that. Last week I noticed he seemed to have a rash on his torso. And the past few days it seems to have flared up on his face. He doesn’t seem bothered by it, but I know I should get on top of it before it gets worse.

What do I do? I don’t foresee the GP being massively helpful, so is there something I could try that’s available without a prescription? I’m happy to pay for it. What is the thing most people try to start? I’ve ordered a sample of Aquamax to try, but what else would be accessible at Boots or similar, particularly for his face.

Cetraben!

Baby Aveeno, no bubble bath or anything like that.

I used to use Oilatum in the bath instead of baby wash. I also found Cetraben to be very good. My son had moderate eczema as a baby. Basically in all the joint areas, neck and around ears. We were given steroid cream to use sparingly for flare ups. At 6 year old now, he only has two patches which occasionally flare up. So he did grow out of it, which I think is common.

Thanks, my dd (she’s 5 now) used to and still does get it in elbow/knee creases but I don’t remember it being quite this bad (or maybe I just don’t remember!).

My son has this and it was quite bad So we were given dermol 500 for baths. He had aveeno too but it wasn’t helping. I had him at the docs 3 times and I got given zeeroveen I swear by it!! It’s amazing

Aveeno or children's farm soap, avoid bubble baths. Cetraben moisturiser cream (comes in a pump bottle from boots etc, we get it on prescription)

If it is really bad worth considering cows milk allergy.
