Baby's First Holiday

Bit of an early one as baby isn't due till September, but we're looking at booking a holiday for next year (sort of Easter time but out of school hols so it's cheaper) as I have an EasyJet voucher I ideally need to use ASAP.

However we have absolutely no idea where to go Confused! Ideally we would like somewhere fairly cheap and with okay weather, not really bothered if it's a city or beachy break.

Usually the idea of all inclusive curls my toes as I like to think im quite good at booking everything Independently and 'roughing it', however I am under no illusion that once I've had the baby I'll completely change my mind and the thought of backpacking with no plan will make me cringeGrin.

Please give me your holiday destination ideas/experiences and locations (ideally somewhere we can fly with easyJet but if you can't be bothered to check they fly there your suggestions are still much appreciated Grin!). Baby will be about 7 months when we go so ideally nothing too wild!

We took our LO to Gran Canaria in August when she was 7 months and she was awesome! The flight was 4ish hours but she was good as gold with snacks and bottles. We had an apartment with a kitchenette but generally ate out and she just went along with whatever we had. Keeping her well suncreamed and in the shade was a trifle stressful but we paid for a parasol on the beach and that worked well although we were lucky she hadn't learnt to crawl at that age. She went in the sea and the pool several times a day. She was ace!

Can't help with destination as always done UK with kids, but can attest that 7 months is a good age, they can sit but probably no crawl, they've started food but not reliant so don't have to worry too much about foreign food.

I'd definitely recommend somewhere with separate living space so once baby is asleep for the night you have somewhere you can relax.

We always went for static caravans for that reason - baby in own bedroom, living room for us.

Cyprus. My children had their first holidays in the Paphos region.

There are loads of self catering options and some are a little bit different.

Drive on the same side, loads of home comforts available everywhere, great climate.

We stayed at the Neptune in Coral Bay, very nice apartment complex, small but lovely pool, cheap, everything in walking distance.

Also Zenning in Latchi has an alternative vibe to it. No phones by the pool, lots of vegan choices in the restaurant, juice bar etc. Again beautiful apartments.

My dd's first holiday was in a yurt at 6 months old. Again near Paphos. It was an amazing experience. And surprisingly easy with a baby. You could combine a couple of those.

DD1’s first holiday was to Portugal (first Madeira, then Vilamoura), and DD2’s first trip will be to Cyprus.

We also went to Majorca which was good-short flight, family friendly but maybe a little cold at Easter.
