I dropped my baby - guilt

Tripped over a toy whilst holding 6mo DD, couldn’t right myself and she ended up falling about a foot and hitting the back of her head hard.

I’ve taken her to A&E and she’s fine in herself, no loss of consciousness or vomiting so they are happy for us to just keep an eye on her at home.

But I feel a bit hysterical. Partly with worry (I’m medical myself so have seen what
It is that they are worried about!) but just so guilty that I dropped her :( can’t stop going over it in my head and beating myself up.

Don’t know why I’m writing. Not for reassurance that she’ll be ok but more for reassurance that this doesn’t make me a horrific parent?

Dd tan at me when ds was over my shoulder whilst I was sitting on the floor and over he went - crapped myself and called my mum in tears!

Thanks for being nice everyone. dd seems great, and appears to have forgiven me Cake

Have you forgiven yourself?

I have, because she’s alright.

If she wasn’t then I wouldn’t have don!

DD 8 mo rolled off the change table face first onto the floor last week. I was even stood in front of her! I was wrapping the nappy but it appears I need an actual hand on her ankle to stop her flipping off!

I was determined this wouldn't happen after DD1 fell off the bed and had a seizure but no.

Definitely a rite of passage.
