tooth fairy traditions

Please share with me your tooth fairy traditions. My daughter just lost her first tooth! She has been waiting over a year for this. All her friends have lost several teeth already :) So she is super excited. I saved a tooth fairy pillow with a little pouch to put the tooth in.

Also, what do you give for the tooth? Money? If so, how much?

We gave £2 first tooth £1. There is a tooth fairy for all girls with name'x' and another for name 'y' etc! Also be prepared for letter writing. Mine like to leave notes so you need to be prepared with a reply.

I gave £5 for the first tooth and then £2 for the others. The tooth fairy also leaves a little trail of glitter around the money and bedside table.

My DD is on the verge of losing her first tooth. I think I will do £2 for the first one and probably £1 for the rest that fall out. Also have a certificate from the tooth fairy.

They all got £5 for the first tooth and it varies between £1 and £2 there after (depends what loose change the tooth fairy has lying around Grin)

Mine had a tiny pouch to make it easier to find when you were ferreting around in the dark and put it under their pillow. Once asleep the tooth fairy would take the tooth out and put 50p in the pouch instead.

My dc all grown up now so there may be some inflation. Wink

We did have a little fabric bag that the tooth is put in. My dd took the tooth fairy thing one stage further! We gave our tooth fairy a name (Tabitha) and dd set about teaching her to read and write. She would write notes to “tabitha” and leave a little pencil and note book for her to reply. Que me “writing back” as Tabitha, gradually getting better and better at writing and dd leaving replies in the note book like “you are doing so well” 😊. This progressed every time dd lost a tooth. We gradually let her grow out of it and she doesn’t do it anymore...I kind of miss it 😢

We gave £2 for the first tooth and a quid for the following ones. I printed out a tooth fairy letter and envelope from a site that has letters for each occasion (rooftops I think?), choosing a print option so it only covers less than 1/4 of the page so it's tiny and swap that, along with the money, for the wrapped up tooth.

I don't know why but I have kept their teeth - for some reason I can't bring myself to throw them away!
