Does this look like chicken pox?

Sorry, I always seem to be here asking after rashes!

DS is 7 months. I noticed what I thought was a bug bite earlier this morning but since noticed a few more and they are appearing slowly as the day goes on. Not nearly as many as I expected with chicken pox though. He doesn't seem at all bothered by them either thank god!

TIA!

Looks like heat rash tbh

Looks like it, but you'll know soon enough tbh.

Looks like it. My dd had a few 3/4 on her under arm similar to this going to bed last year and by the morning she was covered. They may keep appearing over the next 12 hours.
Hope your little one doesn't get to itchy.

It looks like it could be chicken pox to me

Has he been a bit off colour the last few days? Children often feel under the weather before the spots come out

If it is chicken pox don’t give ibuprofen

tryingtocatchthewind · 05/05/2018 18:56

If he gets loads more quite quickly then yes but doesn’t look like it to me

Mookatron · 05/05/2018 18:57

Euralax is good to stop itching.

Rachie1986 · 05/05/2018 18:58

Yep looks like it, esp if more appear and they start to blister.
DD (4) has got it currently.

Thanks for your replies!

He hasn't seem under the weather at all. I don't think it's heat rash as I noticed the first one this morning before it was hot, although I honestly have no idea. First time mum (can you tell?! Wink) so I'm winging it ha!

Hope all your DC that currently have it aren't suffering too much!

Potentially, I would expect the number to multiply quickly overnight and then start to blister. If that happens yes, if it says the same unlikely.

jitterbug5 · 05/05/2018 19:07

Any idea what it could be, if not chicken pox?!

It looks just like CP and May is the right time for it, spots will probably multiply over the next day or two, they get a slightly yellow blister, then dry up. Oats tied into a sock (to avoid bath porridge) in the bath water are soothing,

Flicketyflack · 05/05/2018 19:18

Looks like chicken pox, probably multiply over night. My daughter had it and showed no signs/symptoms until spots appeared GrinUnfortunately we were on holiday in Spain at the time. Sad

Lindy2 · 05/05/2018 19:21

It looks very much like CP. You will know for sure when they start to blister. The blister bubbles and scabs are very distinctive (and a bit gross IMO).
My DD got them at just under 1 year old. Apart from a fine collection of spots she was not unwell at all and never really scratched the spots either.
I hope your DS gets better soon.
