Is it okay for baby to sleep on front?

Since taking away DS sleepyhead he is enjoying all of the extra space, and rolling around in his cot a bit more. He is 7MO. Is it okay for him to be sleeping on his side or front by this age? Does anyone check on baby in the night to put them back on their backs or should I just relax a bit? He can roll from his front to back and back again, but he's not doing it all the time and cannot yet sit up unaided.

Thanks!

As far as I know, if they're rolling themselves it's fine.

Yes if he has the strength to roll himself over then he has the strength to move his neck so that he can breathe. Keep putting him down on his back, but don’t roll him back if he’s happily sleeping

i would roll him back if i found him on his front OP. I done it with both of mine until they were over a year

I had DS2 on his stomach from about a few weeks - he was right beside me and slept far better.

Once they're rolling you don't need to worry about it.

2 out of my 3 babes slept on their tummy since birth.

When my ds was a baby everyone put their baby on the tummy to go to sleep. It was considered the safe way of doing things.

As others have said, put him down on his back when you put him in the cot but once he rolls himself it’s fine to let him get on with it and sleep his front/side.
