Converting to washable nappies.Interested in making some washable wipes.

What material do you use for your wipes?

Any particular solution you mix up or do you just use water in spray bottle?

Ikea sell packs of flannels with little coloured loops for hanging. I think it's about 80p for ten and they wash really well.
We used water in a pump bottle.

Thanks TheDevilWearsPrimark, I am making a trip to ikea in the next few weeks. Another excuse to buy more!

i just cut up a cheap fleece blanket into lots of little wipes and keep them in a container with chamomile tea with some added tea tree oil and honey

I would go for fleece over flannel, softer on bots If you are feeling very creative one side flannel (for sticky poo ) and one side fleece, for cleaning up wet bums and a nice soft wipe over after using the flannel

For solution I tend just to use water, or cold camomile tea. Sometimes a tiny drop of baby bath in the water for a particularly stinky bum

I bought some fleece blankets from Primark (£1.50) cut them up and use them with either a mix of chamomile tea, sunflower oil and baby bath or if I am out then I use a small bottle of baby lotion and wipe with that.

I cheat and use disposable wipes for poo!

We started off with fleece but found it just smeared the poo around rather than absorbing it.
Flannel is not that rough if you wash it carefully.

cut up old towels, cheap flannels, flannelette pillows etc.

no of different solutions:

  1. warm water
  2. 2tbsp baby wash - whatever you use at home
1 tbsp olive oil 2 cups boiling water

make up in an old wipe container or tupperware or something sealproof. Swish and load up with wipes.

  1. warm water, chamomile tea and a few drops of lavendar oil.

I pour 2 cups of cold camomile tea over several in a huggies/pampers box, you have to wring them out but I've never found it a problem. I bought some with fleece one side & terry the other, they're quite good for poos.
