Keeping 14 month old entertained at home

I'm looking for some tips and ideas on keeping my dd entertained when stuck in all day. Ds has just arrived so we are spending more time at home than usual whilst we all find our feet.

Can anyone talk me through how you would get through a day in the house with a walking active 14 month old?

No advice, but I would love to know how you're finding things generally. We're having DS in July when DD will be just 18 months and I am apprehensive. I don't do well stuck at home so anticipate we might be spending a lot of time napping in the car and pacing supermarket aisles with a tandem pram.

You might find some ideas on Pinterest - like an animal wash station or busy bins I think they're called.

It depends on their interest but I did find several things on their that helped when we had a spell of having to be indoors.

If you have a garden spend sometime outside with the baby in sling or buggy, or go for a short walk. Have some little snacks and drinks ready for both of you so you can top up your energy when needed and for distraction. If and when you feel able attend a toddler group to wear them out. Congratulations

My little boy is 15 months and we've got a trampoline and a ball pit in our living room aswell as a box full of toys and books and a tunnel.

He still gets bored even with me chasing him around but it all helps. His tunnel and his etcha sketch keeps us busy the most.

My DD is very physical and at that age I'd have built her a den/run-through using the large sofa cushions and blankets. We had a phase of making "ramps" with one of the larger seat cushions and she liked rolling herself and her toys down it.
