Potentially silly question about cold water sterilising bottles etc

Do I need to buy an actual steriliser? Or can I just use the (clean) sink in the utility room that never actually gets used for anything?

I used a large Tupperware type tub. Don't see why you can't use the sink but the tub you can leave out and add bottles as and when, just replace the water and sterilising fluid once a day.

I think an unused sink, that is throughly cleaned before you use it would be fine for sterilising bottles. Saves having another large tub/bowl out on the side all day, I’ve found that’s a bit of a faff tbh.

When I was in hospital the ladies using the hospital pump needed to sterilise their bits for it, the ward had big Tupperware type tubs.

I use the tommee tippee budget steriliser which was less than £10 and is now on baby #2.

I'm all a bit new to this but I think I'm going to go for the MAM self-sterilizing bottles that go in the microwave.

Thanks all. I had the Tommee Tippee electric steriliser for DC1 but I'm chucking it. I don't have the countertop space in this house that I did in the old one so thinking I can save space. I'll get a new washing up bowl for it and I can move it if need be. Keeps it all out the way!
