Baby refusing milk

Hi, i hope this is the right topic for thus thread ? Couldnt find my way around mums net to post tgis thread.

My ds is 5 months 3 weeks old. He has been exclusively bottlefed from the very beginning. He is cmpi and is on neocate. He also has silent reflux, and take a omeprazole for it. He has never been a great feeder. However recently he started being extremely fussy, he won't take more then 70 - 80 ml each feed, i feed him three hourly. Even this I do with such effort, i talk and entertain, sing and dance or won't even let the nipple go in his mouth. It take a an hour for me at each feed. He weighs 13lb now. I started him on solid which again he is not a fan of. I am tired of people judging me for a tiny baby who isn't thriving as much as others.

The health visitor and pear say they are not worried as long as he has wet nappies, but I am ! He hasn't roll3d over yet, sleeps a lot. Any advice on how to get him to drink hiz milk and calorie rich food I can give him will be very helpful.

Thank you

Firstly are you sure he hasn't got a sore mouth or throat?
If so ; is he looking around a lot getting distracted?if this is the case then try feeding in a very quiet non stimulating area when you are sure he is hungry to minimise distractions.
During the day would he drink from a beaker?Does he want to be like the rest of the family sitting up on your lap and drinking from a cup or using a straw?
It is really tricky when DC get ideas like this because one feels bad for not providing the calories required...
I empathise as I had a skinny baby who decided that he was able to self feed etc and gave up on the breast very early. It was a couple of weeks of worry but he rapidly got the hang of feeding himself, beakers , straws etc

Sorry, I’m a little confused OP. Are you having trouble getting him to BF or getting him to drink his Neocate?

If you are Bfing for some of the feeds, are you completely Dairy Free (DF]?

Forgot to answer the last bit sorry, are you feeding him purees? Avocado can be mashed and is high in calories. Try adding oatly cream to purees too or olive oil if it’s savoury.

no advice on the milk, but just wanted to say my DD is 6.5 months, and has still yet to roll. But she sits well alone/without support and bears weight on legs (with support for balance) etc so I wouldn't be too worried about the rolling. At parent and baby/toddlers groups I've heard about a lot of babies that skip the rolling stage but develop fine.
I know how you feel though, until my DD started sitting I was worried about her development due to lack of rolling Flowers

Have you tried many solids? My DD had zero interest in the baby rice type foods and initially we thought she wouldn't take to solids, but as soon as we tried pureed/mashed up banana she couldn't get enough! We found these little banana wafer things as well that DD loves as a finger type food.

Thanks for the replies ladies. Still no luck getting him to drink enough milk, however I started giving him avocado which he loves. He is not a fan of the puree but will have it if I give it to him, he loves biting on wedges of avocado, banana etc. But he has a shark tooth is biting bits off so generally get out the big chunks once hes biten them. But I can see he is trying to chew.

@pacempercutiens : did you DD sit in her own or dis you sit her up ? My ds can't sit on his one, when I sit him up, he will be there for a good couple of seconds but I'm not sure this is okay for his spine?
