9 month old sleeping on front

My DD is put down to sleep on her back. She immediately turns to her side or back. When she's asleep, we turn her back before we go to bed ourselves but in the morning she's always on her front, knees bent with her backside in the air. Is she old enough for me to stop worrying and just leave her? And if so, should I stop turning her before I go to bed? (It wakes her up a bit but usually doesn't cause problems).

If she can do it herself she’s old enough and strong enough. Anyway babies have slept on their front for 1000’s of years.

I could be wrong but I was led to believe once they can roll over it's fine? Can she? My little boy has been sleeping on his tummy since about 6 months when we moved him into his own room. He's 9 months now, I tried for a while to move him onto his back but he just kept rolling over. To be honest there isn't much you can do to stop them.

My dd1 does this from about 9months and still does at 2! If she can turn herself over I would leave her to it! It's very cute, my dd even but her "teddies to sleep" by placing them on their tummies! I'm beginning to think dd2 might do this too.

Ds does this. He’s 7m. We just leave him. He can turn himself back so we let him get on with it.

My theory is that if he’s comfortable he’ll sleep better.

She can roll over onto her tummy but not back.

No need to turn her .

My DS slept on his front from around 5 months. There was literally nothing we could do to stop him! I think it's fine.

If she can roll onto her front herself then she's strong enough to lift her head and turn it to the side. Mine started sleeping on his front at about 7m when he could roll there himself and he slept a lot better (for a while anyway).

Thanks everyone! That's a weight off my mind.

Well tbh you can't physically get up in the middle of the night repeatedly and know when she's rolled to roll her straight back so regardless gonna have to learn to deal with it ! My son was the same and the anxiety drove me mad !!!

My daughter slept on her tummy from about 5 months when she could roll. Kept moving her back at first but she always rolled back eventually. She was fine and still sleeps like that now at 3.

My 8m old has done for the last 2 months and nights when teething she sleeps face down to push her dummy in Hmm worrying but she’s fine and sleeps better this way!
