It's raining, I'm exhausted, DS 1 & 2 are fed up, DD is about to wake up from her nap. What can we do that doesn't include TV or computer games, but requires minimal effort on my part?

how old are your children?

purpleturtle · 13/05/2007 15:37

Make a den?

Dd and ds2 seem to be playing parties with dolls upstairs. I've just been asked for pretend party bags anyway. Gave them nappysacks!

They're 8 4 and 21 months. It's the 8 year old I'm having trouble with.

we gave in to the rain and went to the ball park despite the fact it would be packed, it wasnt so bad. DD is 22m and she had a nice time - torture for mum and dad but she is sleeping happily now. Playdough is good, and painting, why don't you get your eldest to help the others with some crafts, he could cut out the shapes etc and help them to stick them down etc, a group effort and make him feel v important

purpleturtle · 13/05/2007 15:54

I did, kittypants. They're 6 and 4 and I trust them.

Real party bags are plastic bags, aren't they? We give those to children all the time.

We put up our tent in the living room and had a rehersal for holiday!
Also took boy for a walk in the rain in full waterproofs so he could splash in the puddles and stand in the stream running down teh road.

ChocolateFace · 13/05/2007 19:58

They're all asleep now, YAY!

I lay on DS1's bed while they sorted out what toys they no longer wanted. Even DD joined in with the 'sorting'. I now have a huge pile of toys on the landing to take to the charity shop tommorow.-Hope no one falls over it in the night!

Oh, and I don't want to start a whole new thread, but how concerned shuld I be that DS1 told me 'dressing up is gay'?
