Night time nappies

My Ds1 is 2.5yrs old. Last week he announced "don't want nappies, want big boy pants".
So far so good. He is doing really really well, the odd accident which I expected but generally doing well.

Thing is - he hates having nappies on at night time. He doesn't have them on for a nap. He has a wee before bed and when he gets up. I have managed to persuade him to have those pull up ones with the pictures on at night time as they are "big boy night time nappies". In a morning the pictures are still there (the ones that go if he wees).

My question is - when do we ditch the night time nappies? Do I risk it since it appears (that for the last 4 nights at least) he hasn't done anything over night? Or is it too soon? Or if I leave it at this stage, will he then realise that he 'can' wee/poo at night time and revert to doing that?

Help!

If he's been dry 4 nights in a row he's probably got control of night time wetting...Make sure he goes to the toilet several times after last drink & he'll be fine.

Invest in a plastic sheet for his bed - he will still have the odd accident, even if he's "got it" and ditch the nappies.

Good luck

I would go for it at night, plastic sheet for the mattress, or I can recommend the Hippychick cotton bed protector sheets, which sit on top of the top sheet (if he wets, remove the sheet and put back to bed). We find this works very well and is very absorbent too so the wee doesn't spread around the bed in the same way as when we've used a plastic mattress cover. Not hot and sweaty either.
