Light weight stroller - please help

Argh. There is far too much choice.
I want something light weight (live in London so needs to be tube friendly), easy to fold, that reclines fully (I live in hope of naps), that baby is comfy in (I don't like strollers where the upright position has the child slumped back). I guess with a good canopy (again in the hope of naps).

Please just tell me which one to get! TIA

I suppose the ones that look suitable ish are the maclaren quest, silver cross pop or the city tour by baby jogger.

Babyzen yoyo.
Armadillo flip
Babyjogger have great folds...

ChaosAndPiss · 09/04/2018 17:00

Jumping onboard for ideas. Thinking about getting rid of the big pushchair but the stroller we have now is horrible and makes dd slump in a horrible position.

BerryBee · 09/04/2018 17:34

Me too chaos. I have the chic count oh la la which is so light but has s really slumped position.

What age for OP? I have a city tour and love it but my DD is nearly two - I'd say it's not really suitable for very young kids.

TheBitterBoy · 09/04/2018 19:39

Silver cross pop every time for me.

Namechangemum100 · 09/04/2018 19:42

I'm in love with my baby jogger Citi tour...it's been my favorite purchase :)

Mybabiie mb01 stroller. I got mine in the asda baby sale. So easy to use and looks good too (I have the red stars pattern)

Silvercross Zest. 6kg, one of the lightest buggies out there, but still feels sturdy. Reclines fully. Massive hood. I’ve used it for my DD since she was a few weeks old, at £115 it saved me a bomb compared to spending a fortune on a heavy beast of a travel system.

whatsgoing · 09/04/2018 19:50

Babyzen yoyo
I've had loads and this is the best one I've ever had

flybabyfly · 09/04/2018 22:36

I second the Silver Cross Zest, it’s been great so far.

Cheerywave · 09/04/2018 22:40

Maclaren Quest. It'll last forever. So well made. Have a look on TK Maxx website as they had loads of maclarens on clearance.

BerryBee · 10/04/2018 07:24

Thanks guys. The zest sounds worth a look then and the maclaren quest.

Does the city tour recline fully?

Not sure if I can justify the £££ for the yoyo!

DD is 15 months old so no longer tiny!

I have the silver cross zest and I love it!

princesspeppax · 10/04/2018 08:33

Silver cross pop i used for my dd as a toddler on trains buses etc loved it, very lightweight and a good fold

Now got my babiie for my ds equally like that for the same reasons and lots of patterns and styles to choose from, both reasonably priced Smile

BerryBee · 10/04/2018 09:50

Thanks all...,

The pop is a bit heavier than the zest.....I'll have to drag up and down the tube so I think lightness is key.

The city tour doesn't fully recline I think....experienced mums - do toddlers still nap if not fully reclined?!

YouAndMeAreGoingToFallOut · 10/04/2018 11:48

The City Tour doesn't recline to completely flat but it does have a pretty decent recline. My toddler was certainly perfectly happy to nap in it - I didn't notice any difference between her willingness to nap there versus her main buggy (a baby jogger city mini) which did recline totally flat.

This seems to me to be a fair review of the pros and cons of the City Tour. You might find the upright position is too reclined for your taste - I haven't really found it an issue (unlike the city mini, which I think has a ridiculously reclined upright!).

PalePinkSwan · 10/04/2018 13:12

My 3 year old recently napped while standing upright leaning against a wall ..... you don’t need a full lie flat once they’re over 6 months reslly

sparklefarts · 10/04/2018 13:17

I've just bought the silver cross pop star and absolutely love it. (And it was on sale in mothercare)

theSFclub · 10/04/2018 13:34

A maclaren or a bugaboo bee.

UmbrellaPlants · 10/04/2018 13:46

What about the Hauck Swift? Only £80, 6.4kg, folds small etc. Plus doesn’t have two handles, has one ‘bar’ (sorry don’t know how to describe) but means you can push with one hand

BerryBee · 14/04/2018 10:20

Update in case it helps anyone: tried out the zest and the quest in the end as they were lightest and fully reclining will be handy.

They are more or less identical buggies. Going with the Maclaren quest. DD seemed happier in it, it ‘handled’ slightly better, the seat felt comfier and it has a handy pouch at the back to store stuff in. Plus the lifetime guarantee sounds good.

I’m so excited at not having to lug stupid heavy big pram everywhere!!

Thanks for all the help!

LulusMiniEgg · 15/04/2018 19:55

Try the RECARO Easylife, if you haven’t bought the McLaren yet! It’s tiny, really light and although not a flat recline, is deeper than the Baby Jogger.

I have a Mothercare Amble and it's brilliant. Reasonably priced, reclines and lightweight! Smile
