8 week old sick and "different crying"

Hi.

Everything's been going well with my eight week old.

But we've just driven him home on a four hour journey, with a 20 minute break half way, and when we got home he started bringing up a lot of milk, much more than usual. Then he started making sharp crying noises, different to usual and seems very unsettled.

Pretty worried about what's wrong with him. Could it just be reflux? Thought it might be car sickness but read that infants don't really suffer from it.

Thanks.

Baby that tiny, get medical advice.
Ring 111 now.

Get medical advice. Nobody will think you are wasting their time with a baby that small.

Thanks everyone.

He's actually gone to sleep now and seems content. Hasn't brought anything up for 45 minutes. I'm staying up to observe him though. Thanks.

Did he sleep much in the car?

My DD is 21weeks and gets like you have described from being overtired. Then suddenly she will fall asleep and I wonder any all the crying and upset was about!

Definitely keep an eye on him and if you're worried call 111.

Check temp, mottling on skin can point to dehydration. Noisy breathing or high pitched scream then act fast.

I agree you should call for advice regardless, nhs are lovely and will keep you right, don't take risks at that age.

Set an alarm to check on the baby in the night.

Thank you.
Checked temperature and that's fine. Normal breathing too. Will call 111 if it gets going again.

Thanks MrsGB. Defo will do that.
