Which baby bottles to buy

Pregnant with dd2 & planning on bottle feeding. Starting to buy a few bits now but stuck on bottles.
Dd1 was really windy so i'm concerned this next little girl will be too, ive been looking at the tommee tippee anti colic bottles or the MAM anti colic bottles - really not sure what to do or buy for the best as dd2 may not even be a colicy? Confused. Anyone suggest anything particular?

We used the NUK anti colic bottles and I really loved them. No colic issues (although obviously impossible to say it down to bottles solely).

Also if you haven't already and you're FF, the Tommee Tippee perfect prep machine has been amazing.

We use MAM anti-colic. Didn’t have any colic issues but who knows how much was down to the bottle. The main reason we went for MAM was because they self sterilise in the microwave so it avoided buying a steriliser and having it take up valuable kitchen space.

Thanks - dont know much about NUK so will look at them. Yes we had a prep machine last time it was bloody brilliant so will be using again this time round.

Also I recommend whatever you go for, don’t buy too many initially. It’s really easy to get more but you don’t want to waste money on tons of bottles if for whatever reason your baby doesn’t get on with them. And second advice re Perfect Prep machine- best invention ever!!

Yes I saw that the MAM are self sterilising in the microwave which amazed me & definitely is a major plus.

I prefer the Dr Brown over the MAM. Not so much of an issue when using the perfect prep but you can't stand the MAM in cold water to cool formula quickly, the holes in the bottom let in the (unsterilised) water. You have to stand there holding them under the running tap. It might be an issue in the early days if you want to make less than 4oz of formula (the minimum on the perfect prep). Also DD can drink too quickly from them and gets stomach ache, although that may be her greediness!

I also recommend the perfect prep though, so much easier.

We started off with Mam and then moved to Dr Brown as DDs gas became too bad. Agree best bet is to buy a small amount and try them out and see which one works best.

Another vote for MAM. You can buy small packs (2 or 3 bottles) to try beforr you stock up on bottles.

We use Tommee Tippee

caseymoo · 08/04/2018 21:51

I've used the mam ones but found they are a pain and where the holes are in the bottom they can let water in etc etc especially in a sleep deprived state when you may not have sealed them correctly.
Mostly used tommee tippee but I didn't have a particularly windy baby. Other people I know swear by Dr Browns for colic

I used dr browns and they were fantastic!
