Travel cot for older baby

Hi folks. Does anyone have suggestions for a travel cot that will last a good few years? DS is only 10 months old but I'd like to get one that will last until he moves to a bed. Don't want to be forced into testing out a bed for the first time when we go on holiday or he's at grandparents because we haven't got a cot that's big enough. Thanks Smile

We struggled with this! Originally bought a Nuna Sena which was brilliant but only lasted until she was about 20 months old. I googled it and aldi was the only place I could find a larger travel cot, think it’s a huack. It’s a complete nightmare to put up and down and really frustrating (think we were spoiled by the Nuna!) and the mattress is dreadful so you will need to invest in a better one in my opinion, but the travel cot was £25 and then we spent £45 on a mattress... she is 2.9 and still in it! Just...

My daughter is 2.4 and still fits comfortably in a normal travel cot.

When my son moved from a cot to bed we used to take his cot mattress to sleep on.
I would say they donMt move out due to size but safety... once they can climb out you move from a travel cot/cot so don’t worry too much about getting a bigger one.

@Flipchisandmushypeaa I'm surprised you struggled with the Nuna, my 98th centile height son fitted in it until he was 2.5 (just). It was only good for the occasional night (he had to sleep diagnonally) but he slept just fine.

OP, I don't think you'll find one that will fit many children after 2.5. We moved to a blow up bed after that, you can get toddler sized ones with ridges around the edge so they can't fall out.

The Baby Bjorn one is a million billion pounds but it is amazing and my 3 year old still fits in it

I agree on baby Bjorn / it’s been worth every penny, so easy to put up, pretty light and more comfortable than most. Genuinely money well spent, unlike a lot of the baby crap I’ve bought over the years! Must have good re sale value too.

Thanks all, the advice is much appreciated. The Baby Bjorn one looks lovely but I don't think I could justify spending that much on one sadly. DS is fairly small for his age so maybe a fairly standard and cheap one will indeed last him a few years Smile
