I would really wait and an Amazon prime it all as my 22 has very definite ideas about the type of toys she wants to play with.

I'm going to get some presents in advance and put money aside and order some smaller stuff closer to the time for interests I haven't already covered.

Ikea stuff - wooden train, playfood, rocking horse/reindeer, finger puppets, that huge roll of paper and pens.

DS loved his pyjama case at that age - putting things in, taking things out, putting things in, taking things out ad infinitum! (Still loves it at now 6yo).

Oh and the nightlight from Ikea, we call it Blobby, very tactile and doesn't get hot for small fingers.

RatOnnaStick · 28/03/2018 19:46

When Ds2 was 23mo his main present was a balance bike, only because his big brother got his first big bike and there would have been war if we hadn't got ds2 something equivalent.

DD was 22m last Christmas and main present was a noisy train. Also got and loved a tea set, Bing soft toy and Duggee slippers

Allthepinkunicorns · 28/03/2018 20:22

I got lots of craft supplies to last a year or so in a big plastic box for storage.
Books
Duplo
Food and kitchen utensils
Hoover (my ds had an obsession with Hoover's)
Puzzles
Peppa pig dvd and toys

Ikea toy kitchen and a scooter. Loves them.

elQuintoConyo · 29/03/2018 08:38

Big plastic sit-on motorbike. Just remembering now that he used to scoot everywhere on it! He loved that thing!

Oh and a pushchair for his teddy, in pink to match his bear.

Definitely a good age for a wooden train set. Also a tiny backpack or bag often goes down well at this stage so they can take their own things or pack and unpack it. Wooden food that Velcro’d together was a hit round then too and a toy shop til (the shop was added for 3rd Xmas I think!)

Cantchooseaname · 29/03/2018 08:47

My 22 month old loves her music box- maracas, claves, castanets, tambourine etc. Just upgraded to include little guitar. Maybe not everyone’s idea of fun- but it sometimes gets put away when I’ve had enough!

WhereIsBlueRabbit · 29/03/2018 08:53

For DS's second birthday, we got him a Little Life backpack, which worked very well. He also got a pull-along mini suitcase from someone else, which he loves and uses to take his things to the childminder's house. Other things that went down well were a toy bus, the book Naughty Bus (there's a theme here Grin) and first Duplo sets (the train one is very popular here).

My DS was absoulutely over the moon when he got a wooden clock at that age and lots of Lego, really expensive but you can get a little cheaper on eBay as can get by box load, just put some steriliser stuff and filled box before gave to him

Chocolateanddiamonds · 29/03/2018 09:40

Music is a great idea, we have a few bits and lo loves making noise so will add to it.
Arts n crafts are a definite too
As will be a balance bike/some form of Trike thing
Trains and cars on the list
Love the idea of a little kitchen just need to figure out where to put it, with a shopping trolley and foods.

This thread as proved a great idea
