This isn't a stealth boast in any way about my DD, just a serious question and more of a WWYD.
My DD has said recently she is bored in class and finds the work too easy. She wants her teacher to make it harder so she can try new things rather than go over the same work she can do easily already.
I explained that not every child is able to work to the same level or ability, and that she is obviously very capable and bright but not all her classmates will be at the same pace or ability as her.
I don't want her to become totally conceited about her abilities and she isn't a child to boast about how easy she finds it, but I am concerned she won't progress as much if she is just going over the same work all the time, and wants to be pushed harder.
Her most recent report was excellent - glowing in almost every way and said she was really doing well - but I want her to continue to improve and not think she can't try as hard just because she finds some subjects easy.
As she is only 7, we're not talking GCSE level work here or anything, but I realised the difference between her and some of her friends when a neighbour and friend told me her DD was hating school because she can't do maths or fractions; maths is one of my DD's favourite subjects and she doesn't struggle at all. I know that there will always be varying degrees of abilities in all schools, but I truly want the best for her and wondered how I would go about getting further help and pushing her more from the school?
I guess speaking to her teacher would be the first call...
