Forgetting your child's early months/years

Just wondered if there are other parents that have no memories or hardly any memories of their child's early years or early months. Or is it just me. I only seem to remember from 4years plus. My son is now 7 x

The human brain is designed to forget things, especially difficult things.

I have blanked out an awful lot.
Friends had 3 in about 18 months & don't remember anything before the youngest was about 12m.

I remember a lot of details but not feelings if that makes sense!?

I had PND and I remember very little from DD baby days. I think I just blocked it out as it was so difficult for me.

Honestly, I hardly remember anything! My friend (with a newborn) was quizzing me about stuff the other day & I was just Confused!! I knew I should of filled in the bloody baby book

Yes me too! I'm finding life with little kids so full on that the present completely overwrites that past, I think.

I find that when I look at photos of DD (20 months) as a newborn I don't recognise her as my child. She just looks like a baby.

DS is only 12 monthe and I find it difficult to imagine him older let alone forget this age.

Yep have lots of blanks - been looking at old photos of early days and so much I have forgotten

I remember very little of one of my dc's first years. It was a very very difficult and stressful time and it shocks me how little I can actually remember. I also remember very little of my own childhood whereas my sister seems to remember every last detail.

I really wish I had taken more videos, written more down. At the time you can't imagine forgetting any of it!
