I would just like to say thanks too everyone who replied to my other threads over the last few weeks, it as helped with our groups research no-end.

Our final query is this; as said before its seems many people who think dummies look common find it even more revolting has the children increase in age.

So how old is too old for a dummy? and why do you feel it looks bad beyond this age?

Cheers from all our group, Wondergirl.

I'm not fussed tbh. Think I woud have been before kids or if I didn't have an autistic kid, but I have many friends with autistic kids who have dummies very late (think age 8 +). I think the parents have bigger things to worry about.

None of my children have had dummies btw- I just tend to think whether others do or not is non of my business....

My dd still has her dummy, only at night-time though. I definitely have discouranged using it in the day from about the age of 3, although sometimes give in if she is extremely tired in the day. She will be 5 at the end of the month. We have explained that when she has her 5th birthday that the dummy has to go. I am very happy with this.
