Co -sleeping with baby and partner - does anyone else manage this?

Baby starts out the night sleeping in his next to me crib, but wakes up frequently for feeds so for the first feed I move him into our double bed to make the night a bit easier. Baby spreads himself out on my half (and I am scared to wake him to rearrange his limbs). DH is a big tall guy so he really takes up all the space on his half of the bed. This leaves me with a tiny sliver of bed left! I spend all night lying on my side resulting in poor sleep and terrible back pain and bed sores - I had it much easier during pregnancy!

I keep hinting that DH could sleep on the sofa and he knows how uncomfortable I am but he likes being close to us so I feel guilty about broaching it. We also got this bed and mattress for me when I became pregnant so upgrading so soon to a larger bed is our of the question. How do other co-sleepers manage?

Top and tail with DH. A lot more room this way!! I dont have the option to send DH to sofa and no where to sleep in spare room.

Same as you, sleeping on a sliver of matress! We have a daybed in babies room which pulls out to a double, I did that and moved n there until this week when we are trying to stop co sleeping. If you don't have the option to do something like that the top and tail idea sounds good! Ultimately though your DH will have to go on the sofa if nothing else works. Mine was the same wanting to feel close to us but I explained how tired I was and I slept so much better with more space.

We bedshared for 2 years with our first and now again with our 2nd. What works for us - especially if you think you will long term - is to get a single bed and attach it to our double for dh. So we have cot attached on one side, double in the middle which baby and I use all of, and dh is in the single. It means it’s safe to move baby to either side of me (we sleep with separate bedding) so we have a lot of flexibility.
