how much should i add to the rinse cycle for washable nappies? and what sort of vinegar should i use? I have read it brings them back to being fluffy, and since this is a hard water area i really want fluffy nappies to stay!!

Can't help you I'm afraid but am amazed at how many uses vinegar has. Have you tried googling? Discovered that vinegar put through your washing machine once a year on a 95 deg wash is the best way to clean it??

Hi Misdee, I just put a decent pour in the conditioner chamber, probably amounts to half a mug. Must admit I don't find the vinegar fluffs them up (only tumble drying) but (I think) it acts as a disinfectant, strips off any detergent residue and helps a little with the stains. I find if I put too much in the whole lot comes out stinking and my next clothes wash afterwards!

The only thing I find that softens my line dried nappies is a good old rub together once dry, like when you're trying to get a stain out. I do this around the waist and leg areas only so they don't rub ds. They rest softens once the first wee comes in!
HTH..

PS, how is dd's bottom?
