When did you stop putting dc in a high chair?

Just wondering when others stopped using high chairs?

Ds is almost 2 and really too big for the high chair but would no way sit still for a meal otherwise.

We have a small house with no dining room or really even room for a dining table in the living room. I really don't know what to do with him at meal times when we stop the high chair, I don't want him just running around the place with his food (which he would right now).

Anybody had a similar issue? What did you do? I welcome any advice, thank you.x

How about a booster chair that goes on a normal dining table so you can still strap him in? Also could get a toddler size table and chair - will probably be a while until he sits for long but can start practising now with some meal or snack times.

We stopped about the same age. I got a little table and chairs from IKEA which she eats on now and when we all eat together she can just about manage the dining table now at 2.5. Where do you eat? You can get booster seats for chairs.

He has a booster seat he uses at nana's house but they have a dining table to pull it up to which we don't unfortunately.

I'll look into a small kids table though thank you. Although I'm still not sure where it would go, we have a 3 month old too so the living room is taken up by travel cot and jumperoo at the moment too! Aaargh need to move again! 😩😩

@upthewolves it's not ideal I know but I'm afraid we eat on trays on our knees on the sofa or chair.

There's just no room for a table at all, if we get rid of the arm chair and only have a sofa we could squeeze a small one in. I would like to have one and have sit down meals together.

lizzle no judgement, I get it now! The one we have from ikea is really small, but big enough for her (although she often makes me sit with her on the other chair that fits one bum cheek!) Could you fit one in your kitchen?

This is the one we have.

That's really cute, although that chair would break if my bum went anywhere near it!

Not really any room in the kitchen either I'm afraid, but I think once ds2 is over 6 months we will stop using the travel cot for day naps and he can go in his normal cot upstairs, I don't like to leave him alone yet I'm too paranoid. That should free up some space.

Hmm do ikea deliver I wonder?

I had same little table as upthewolves. It can double as a coffee table or a play table for puzzles, little farm etc and is very compact. Takes up less space than jumperoo Grin - could you move that to a bedroom/kitchen?
