DD just turned 6 still need a bed time nappy. I have been using terries due to the cost of pampers dry nites the only size she will now fit. I do have an ellie pant wrap which is ok.
I use to use motherease which I found brillant but they don't fit her now.
Please does any one know of size bigger wraps for terries.

I think Michaela at Minki does custom made wraps for older children - they're pocket nappies, but that might be easier anyway I'd guess?

that's a great idea daisymoo as lexcat culd use the terries to stuff the nappy so no need for any inserts , will have to remember that one!

I think you will find a number of chemist shops specialising in bed wetting/incontinence products will sell traditional type pull-on plastic pants in a wide range of sizes, from toddler up to adult, which are ideal for use over a terry nappy.

As an afterthought, I forgot to mention that I have a friend whose daughter was still in nappies at nearly 7 years of age, and a heavy wetter at that. She found that the best solution was to put a terry nappy on her, boosted at night, with pull on plastic pants over the top. Disposable nappies were just not up to the job, absorbancy wise, as well as the cost. Incidentally, the daughter is now happily married with children of her own, and is no longer in nappies!

Pocket nappies look great but dd like a nappy folded and done up , have tried a pocket style before.
Big plastic pants sound good but was hoping there maybe something a little nicer an plastic pants.
As for her been wet at night I have no worries she wants to be dry at night and I beleive, with time she will become dry. In the meant time just tring to keep costs down.

Well, plastic pants do the job, and as she only needs a nappy at night, it does'nt matter what they look like.

It was more about what they feel like. Plus with warm summer night just around the corner they will make her very sweaty, which in the past has lead to a sore bottom.

lexcat, how much does she weigh, is it 22Kg or more? I think a fleece or wool wrap would be nice and keep her cool. A Tots fleece wrap comes in a size 3 and is suposed to fit 38lb+ but I guess this may be a bit small or can you get someone to knit her a wool wrap in her favourite colours? I think there will be some patterns on the web if you search

lexcat · 02/05/2007 14:55

She would be 22kg plus but thanks for the help.

lexcat, I've just come back from my sisters who has a 5 year old boy still in nappies at night, and she agrees with me. You say you use terry nappies? What sort of fold do you use. We think the type of fold is very important. I use a kite fold, and for night time insert another terry nappy, pad folded and inserted on top, with a disposable nappy liner on top of that! This combination is super absorbant, drawing the heaviest wee away from any childs bottom, without causing the plastic pants to sweat, as you seem to be worried about. If you do see any signs of soreness, then I recommend a liberal application of zinc and castor oil cream to the bottom and general nappy area. This nappy system is a bit bulky, but what does it matter at night? It's comfy for the child and does'nt matter what it looks like. All you have to do is put it on at night (on your daughter that is!) and take it off in the morning. Good luck.

I would say wool - or talk to one of the WAHMs (weenotions are lovely) and they will custom make something.

Woollywraps would probably make something to fit, or try Pixie Knits (here or Natural Knits for Nippers ( I think... possibly co.uk
