I was totally amazed, as expected the usual, heavy nappy to drop off her this morning, but no t'was dry as a bone.

i am hoping it may sporadically continue??

Without wishing to rain on your parade ...

Dd had her first dry night nappy over a year ago. Then the following day she had another one.

She has never repeated the feat since, and her nappies are still as full and heavy as ever. She will be 6 next month.

I really hope that this is the beginning for you though!

Have you tried her in ordinary pants at night? DS (4) in pull-ups until recently; he decided he wanted to wear pants and hasn't looked back yet. It seems that knowing he hasn't got the security of pull-ups had made him dry, iyswim!

Ds was 5 and a half when he came out of nappies at night, and for him you have described exactly how it happened. He had one dry nappy, and then a few days later another one. this went on for a bit until most mornings he was dry and then we decided to remove the nappies. He has had a few accidents, but overall it has been a success.

We waited until ds had 7 days of dry nappies in the mornings and then took a chance (he is 3) We've had the odd accident but he's pretty much cracked it. He has his last drink about an hour before bedtime and I make him do a wee before he gets in the bath and that has done the trick. So you never know!

ok, so discreet nappy inspections, so as not to make this an issue. she was so pleased iwth herself tho.

I was just sooooo surprised this morning!!!

dd (4.4) has a reward chart now,(for 7 dry nappies, a comic). She's managed 7 in about 11 days, which I'm delighted with. She wants to be dry, and keep the princesses on her pull ups dry but I think she just sleeps too deeply to wake up when she needs to go.

What has helped produce some dry nappies, is 'lifting' her to the toilet when I go to bed. I wasn't sure about doing it, but it has helped.

Reassuring to see that wet night-time nappies are common, though I'm not worried about it, as she's only 4, but it seemed that all her friends have been dry at night for ages!

my ex lifts her in the night, whci with her just seems to say its ok to go at night, and hasnt helped her get up to go at night.

last night she slept a deep and long sleep, as had birthdya friday, and a sleep over, so I was really amazed that she'd done this.

There is a God! I felt like a failure as DD2=1 is 4.5 and still has a wet nappy at night. My DS has been dry since 2.4 (and I've always been told boys are more difficult to train!). Sme good advice here, thanks.

pirategirl · 01/05/2007 10:31

wet wet wet this morning, oh well, I wont worry, will just wait and see.

Enid · 01/05/2007 10:46

Enid · 01/05/2007 10:47

pirategirl · 01/05/2007 10:47

dd1 was about 5

dd2 was 3

they had never had dry nappies at night

dd1 took a couple of weeks to 'get' it

dd2 has never had an accident and asked not to wear her nappy at night herself

pirategirl · 01/05/2007 11:03

si u took them out of the nappies, and eventually they became dry--lots of sheet wasing then???

mothercare washable absorbent mats essential

mattress - mattress protector - washable care mat thing - sheet - washable care mat thing - sheet

then when they wet in the night just whisk off top sheet and care mat leaving new dry sheet and care mat

pirategirl · 01/05/2007 11:07

ok, will give it a shot, can i get these care matts online i wonder, as nowhere near a mother care.

OP posts:
Enid · 01/05/2007 11:09

well you can use pampers care mats but they are more expensive obv as you have to chuck em

Enid · 01/05/2007 11:10

try mothercare online

pirategirl · 01/05/2007 11:11

i see, so the mothercare ones aremore economic, as washable, have just looked and done a search on there and google, but no luck.

Enid · 01/05/2007 11:14

like this

you need two

they seem expensive but they are worth it

Enid · 01/05/2007 11:14

i am pretty suere mine were not organic

PetitFilou1 · 01/05/2007 13:34

pirategirl you can buy disposable bed mats (pampers) in big supermarkets but you probably need quite one of the larger stores.
