Silver Cross Sleepover - help!

Bojangles33 · 01/02/2018 21:31

My mum has kindly offered to buy us a pram and has fallen in love with the silver cross
Sleepover. It is GORGEOUS but I'm worried about it being heavy and difficult to manoeuvre without swivel wheels. We have a big car so not too concerned about fitting it in the boot. FTM so not even sure how much I will use a pram vs a sling anyway, I expect it will be just for taking out for walks along the promenade (we live on the coast) rather than around shops, so not sure if it will be a major issue? Any advice much appreciated!

I got the sleepover version with swivel wheels, might be a good comprimise also not heavy in the slightest but the pram part takes a fair amount of boot space due to the sturdy design.

Mine was the one that comes with the wooden stand and white hood and dressing for using as a basinette at home

The car seat also fitted on the frame

Thanks Toasty. I'm not sure they do one with swivel wheels now? Or I can't seem to find one anyway. I had decided on a lighter weight one but now I've fallen in love with this one a bit too! So difficult to decide!

I had a big pram like that with my DD. I found it really easy to maneuver and not too heavy at all. I don't drive so never had to fold it down, but I think the chassis folds pretty flat and the carry cot comes off easily. I found the large shopping basket really helpful too. I used mine for years with the toddler seat attachment.

How long is the bassinate? My daughter had outgrown the uppababy bassinate by 9 weeks. We were in hospital for 2 weeks so we only got 7 weeks use out of it.

They're pretty roomy so don't think that would be an issue @Chaosofcalm Also none of our family are particularly tall so I'd be surprised if baby is particularly long! I'm not super worried about not getting the use out of it, mostly just about it being totally impossible to manoeuvre!!

Have you tried it out? The old style ones are quite easy to manoeuvre because of the big wheels and suspension.

My experience was everyone ends up getting a stroller as well, so it's best to go big for the Pram.
